Company Principals

JORDON MUNIZZI, PhD, REP

President and Principal Scientist

A Florida native, Jordon began his career in the state’s commercial development and construction sector, working through college as an equipment operator, field superintendent, and finally project manager. Although certainly not a traditional start for an environmental scientist, this experience provided him with a firsthand understanding of the priorities, needs, and timelines of those working in Florida’s land development and real estate industries.

After completing his PhD in stable isotope ecology, Jordon managed the Kentucky Stable Isotope Geochemistry Laboratory (KSIGL) in the University of Kentucky’s Earth and Environmental Sciences Department for a number of years, overseeing the daily operation and method development of mass spectrometry and gas chromatography systems used in environmental research.

Jordon established Excelsior Environmental Consultants with the aim of providing commercial, industrial, and residential clients with full-spectrum environmental consulting services of the highest possible quality and rigor.

Aside from his PhD, Jordon is a Registered Environmental Professional (REP) and holds the main Florida FWC Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent permit for the company. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and the University of Western Ontario and is an author on several presentations and peer-reviewed scientific research papers in geoscience and archaeochemistry.

Jordon oversees all of Excelsior’s ecological services and is also responsible for creating and implementing the strategic vision for the company.
